Portland Mercury/Seattle Stranger/Keep It Light

Had the oppurtunity to travel down south to my home away from home Portland, OR. Shooting our Seattle Stranger's sister paper s (The Portland Mercury) Spring Fashion Issue: Open Season Article.

This was a fun shoot although it definitely turned into more of a challenge/adventure than we had planned. After getting to our original scouted location up in the sketchy winding logging roads to find a freak May 1st snowstorm we had to find an all new location (Stylist wasnt digging the Snow Filled Spring Vibe) and start shooting much later than planned. Even with the mishaps/NW weather, I'm happy with what we pulled off. No the guns were not my idea..nor my favorite idea but it was fun to watch Jay (The Owner) shoot them in the woods.

Also feels really cool to see my good friend/Keep It Light Collective member Lauren Max getting this week's Seattle Stranger cover. Featuring a photo of none other than our fellow KIL member Ryan Furbush . Good things are happenin! cheers to more and more!

VICE Fiction Issue 2010

I've been so anxious/excited for this to come out and the day is finally here. My first assignment with VICE Magazine. In the January 2010 Fiction Issue. Got to shoot Whidbey Island Author Pete Dextor.

Feels amazing to get my work in a publication that has featured so many of my favorite photographers over the years. You can read the article ONLINE or attempt to pickup a copy around town before they quickly disappear as VICE often does.

Shooting John Keatley

I was recently hired to shoot a portrait of Photographer John Keatley for City Arts Magazine. I was honestly more stressed at first for this shoot than any hip band or pretty girl haha Shooting someone who has been hired to shoot Annie Liebowitz was a little nerve racking.

I had a few ideas for doing a Keatley "Esque" studio shot but i'm glad I decided on something more up my alley instead. I'm extremely happy with the results. John was a really rad dude. and his work speaks for himself. Props to him for bringing it from Seattle. And getting paidddd =P As I'm sure he did for the new cover of Sarah Palins Book:
